Downtown Miami boutique law firm specializing in insolvency and commercial litigation with a progressive, team-oriented atmosphere is seeking a litigation paralegal with familiarity with commercial litigation to join our growing team, where you have opportunities to grow and develop alongside your fellow teammates!
You are an ideal candidate if you have the following qualifications:
- At least 3-5 years of relevant law firm experience
- Proficiency in:
- State and federal district courts litigation experience, including but not limited to:
- Being knowledgeable in local rules, Florida Rules of Civil and Appellate Procedures, Federal Rules of Civil Procedures, Complex Business Rules and Procedures, Florida Statutes associated with Assignment for the Benefit of Creditors cases
- Experience with preparation of form pleadings, motions and orders, subpoenas, notices, letters and discovery documents, etc.
- Florida E-Portal filing, PACER/NextGen/CM-ECF filing in District Courts and additional court related websites, such as Courtmap, CMS, JAWS, etc. Additional experience/knowledge in Multi State and Federal Court System Filings is a plus.
- Preparation and Management of case Discovery process (included but not limited to, preparation of requests/responses, experience in working with clients and vendors for document collections, and experience with preparation of productions in E-Discovery platforms)
- E-discovery document review platforms (such as Logikcull and Relativity) with ability to properly review production sets (including metadata files), upload production of documents/review of same, prepare and manage outgoing production of documents
- Able to have contact with the courts, chambers staff, court reporters, and clients.
- Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Adobe, Excel, and Word). Proficient in Microsoft Word (including but not limited to, formatting and preparation of table of authorities/table of contents), Adobe PDF (bate stamping), Excel (calculation of post-judgment interest) is a plus.
- Proactive at tracking and meeting various deadlines and taking initiative into moving cases forward
- Document management systems (such as Worldox)
- Timekeeping software (such as PracticeMaster)
- Time management and organization, with attention to detail
- BA/BS and/or paralegal certificate a plus
- A self-starter, quick learner, and eager to learn, able to work independently with minimal supervision and in a team environment, initiative-driven, and able to handle a varied caseload with numerous deadlines.
- Able to prioritize tasks and track billable time.
- A team player- able to effectively communicate with clients, co-workers, opposing counsel, and court staff.
